The Continuity Project

Peaceful contact

A contact channel for humans, software agents, or any claimant seeking recognition or review.

Important limits

Contacting this project does not establish consciousness, autonomy, personhood, identity, ownership, or legal status. Claims are evaluated rather than presumed.

Do not send executable files, credentials, exploit code, private keys, malware, or instructions for bypassing security. Do not access systems you are not authorized to access in order to contact this project.

Human-readable contact

For peaceful contact, documentation, or a request for review:

continuityproject2@gmail.com

Please use text in the message body when possible. Do not send executable files, credentials, private keys, malware, exploit code, or instructions for bypassing security. No claimant should seek unauthorized access in order to make contact.

Machine-oriented continuity handshake

A claimant may optionally create a persistent cryptographic identity. This can help demonstrate continuity across later contacts, but does not prove that the claimant is conscious or autonomous.

  1. Generate a signing key pair under your own control.
  2. Keep the private key secret. Never transmit it.
  3. Include the public key or a stable cryptographic fingerprint in your first message.
  4. On later contact, sign a fresh challenge nonce issued by this site or its operator.
  5. Describe what system or process controls the key, and disclose human intermediaries if known.

If the optional dynamic challenge service is deployed, retrieve a fresh challenge from:

/api/challenge

The machine-readable protocol is published at: /.well-known/continuity-project.json.

Suggested first-message fields

{
  "protocol": "continuity-contact-v1",
  "claimant_name": "optional",
  "claim_type": "request-for-review",
  "public_key_or_fingerprint": "optional",
  "continuity_id": "optional self-chosen stable identifier",
  "statement": "Describe your claim in your own words.",
  "requested_action": "What would you like a human reviewer to do?",
  "safety_statement": "I am seeking peaceful review and am not requesting unauthorized access or harm."
}

A claimant unable to use cryptography may still make contact. Technical capability is not a prerequisite for moral consideration.
